LS engine valve cover gasket kit question
What exactly is the little graphite gasket included in most of the LS engine valve cover gasket kits used for? It seems like almost all of the kits include it, and I’m assuming it’s probably used for something that goes to Vortec truck variants of the LS engines.

Its like for super old LS1 stock style egr stuff I'd guess. Dont need it.

agreed, looks like Gen III EGR gasket.

It’s the gasket for the AIR portion of the EGR for the gen 3 LS and LQ engines. Toss it, you don’t need it.
