offset bushings or no

In planning some suspension refresh and improvement, I'm thinking I want to lower like an inch, maybe (but doubt) inch and a half. Likely with coilovers as I want to do whatever I can to retain or improve ride quality. So in planning all the things I want to replace or change, potential of doing offset diff bushings is a thing. That said, it already has brand new BMR bushings since I just had new gear and tru-trac done and I did 't think to ask for offset. Just wondering whether I really should be doing the offsets or not.

Part of the consideration, car is not high power at the moment. Just headers, intake, and tune, so 424HP/421TQ. In the future, that could change, but who knows.

From what I understand, offset bushings are used to improve the axle angles. Manual transmissions, high hp, wheel hop, and launches with sticky tires can break axles. If you are doing none of those, I don't see the need. With that said, the more aggressive the CV angle the faster the joint will wear, and cheap, good axles are unobtainium for these cars. However, if you significantly bump the hp on the car, you should consider aftermarket axles anyway. Just put that in your budget for your future build.

I don't think I would swap them out at the moment, I would hold off until you are doing work back there again or you up the power. I use have a set of hendrix sitting on the self I chose to leave the stock bushings in when i did the True Trac and gears as I heard any of the stiffer bushings on the Diff itself will up NVH considerably ( You are running BMR already so probably won't be much of a difference but I do believe the Hendrix offsets are stiffer ).

My Camaro has been lowered 1.25 on Pfadt springs for 13 years without any problems yet with anything in the rear suspension. And since the cam swap and the upped HP and TQ 6 years ago, still running stock bushings. The only thing not stock back there is the solid cradle bushings I have installed, and 1 pc driveshaft. I have read on here that if your making big HP and TQ, as cracka said, then you might want to do then.

Thanks for the info. The back will likely be getting solid cradle bushings, new trailing arms, new sway and end links. Not sure what else yet. Planning front work as welel.
Looking at tightening up the ride on the is 118K mile car and fantasizing about a ride better than stock yet handling better as well.

If it's pre-2012, switch to the FE4 LCA/sway bar setup. Huge improvement. On the vert I run the 27mm 1LE bar up front and a 32mm Pedders bar out back. Some guys like adjustable bars, but my driving skills aren't good enough to require that.

Highly recommend solid cradle mounts, that would be the first thing I would do and probably uca mount while cradle is lowered.

Might be interesting. I wonder what makes the AFE $100 more (retail) than Hendrix.

Not sure, but I believe that AFE bought the company Pegasus, that I have in my Camaro. I got mine from them, and they no longer are in business. That happened quite some time ago. They used to sell suspension parts too.. Great product, and were a breeze to install..
