Tire suggestions - mixed use

Subject is a 2010 SS 2RS that I daily in Florida, so I don't need an all weather tire for the snow.

Use of vehicle:
  • Daily driver
  • Street race on a rare occasion (mostly 40 roll) if I'm lucky; in Mexico
  • Track the car every couple months.

I have BC coil overs on it now, stock wheels.

I started my research looking at options on Tirerack but there's a ton of options; Goodyear, Continental, Pirelli, Continental, Michelin, and Bridgestone, under or around $250-$300 / tire.

Any suggestions? Oh, I need something that's going to last and I won't have to change every 10K miles

Suggestions?

Mine is a daily driver as well . I too am in Fl. I went with the Continental DSW. Has a great rating for wet and dry , and long a treadware. They ride very smooth and quiet. Great grip on the corners.

These. I have been running them for the 14 years I've owned my Camaro. I still run them on the front, but on the rears I am running Michelin Pilots on the rear now because I needed a 335 wide for my wide wheels, and at the time there were only 2 manufacturers that had them. If Conti had a 335, I would be running them. Conti's are a great tire for our Camaro's..

Pirelli Pzeros for sure, they turn into rocks if you let them sit too long but for daily/tracking the car you can't do much better. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's are a great alternative.

Gonna disagree on this one. For all the years I have been on this forum, 14 years. and have read about tires for our Camaro's, most EVERYONE couldn't wait to get those garbage PZERO'S off their cars, I know I couldn't! They are expensive, and didn't last very long, 14k at the most. Plus they didn't do very well in any "aggressive" driving on the track or the street, I really hated mine. But if you like them, go for it. Just my .02..

Driving a modified ZL1 track and street (longtubes, 8%upper, 12%lower, ID850s, intake, boost-a-pump, full exhaust, flex sensor, custom maps, rollcage and harnesses). I've tried them all(nittos cup2s mickeys hoosiers etc) Pzeros are the only tires that don't roll smoke into 3rd. Drag strip with prepped surface is another story. I'll admit they do wear fast, 315/35ZR20 rears / 280/40ZR20 fronts.
