East Coast Car Transport Question

Just bought a New car on ebay. Anyone have any experience with shipping companies. Ebay references: DAS, United Road, and Express Auto Transport.

If it wasn't winter I would just fly up and drive it back. Not worried about the snow, more the salt and gravel crap they put on the roads in the winter. Shipping it from Boston to St Pete Florida. Rates are $780-$850.

FedEx Car offers closed transport at an additional $500. More than I can really justify.

Looking for information on timelyness, care, pickup and drop off problems.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Gary

Call George at 310-925 6727.
He was referred by Beverly Hills Lamborghini.
The average priced car he transports is half a mill so you know your baby will be in good hands.
He is the real deal.

PAY EXTRA FOR THE ENCLOSED TRAILER!!!! I shipped a car once. I didn't pay the extra and the thing had so many chips in the paint it was unbelieveable. they mush have loaded it backwards to, because the back edge of the spoiler was chipped like crazy too.

It'll cost you more then $500 to get all the chips out.

My friend does a lot of shipping work and he gets his jobs through www.Uship.com It's like the ebay of shipping. You put up a job and people bid for it. The lowest bidder gets the job and uship takes a cut.

Transport

We've used Intercity and feel they are the best in the business. Enclosed, and they cover the car inside the trailer too. Very careful and professional.

I second that - Intercity Lines moves all my cars and they are the best. I have used many in the past (DAS - Dependable is the worst) and noone even comes close to them. As well, they ONLY do enclosed transport. Once your car is loaded it is not unloaded until it reaches you. Many carriers charge for enclosed but only do it partial from point to point and leave your car in storage yards waiting for the next branch of the trip.

Do yourself a big favor, call Jeff Degnan at Intercity. He will take care of all your needs and you will come back to thank us once your car arrives.

Thank You. I will check into it. All seeming like a hassle. May just watch the weather and go for it myself.

Ended up using GT Auto Transport. Had an A- rating on BBB and of the reviews I read the only gripe was inconvienient dropoff and pickup coordination.
My car went on a 7 or 9 car carrier. My only request was on this type of carrier, they put me on the top deck. Which they did.
Pickup was Monday this week in Boston and Drop-off was 4pm on Thursday despite the weather.
Highly recommend. Delivered safe and sound with 33 miles on the ODO.
