Zl1 big brake set up installed recently.
Recently I installed some Gen 6 ZL1 calipers and rotors to my 5th Gen SS. I had a lot of help and guidance from forum member Camarocracka throughout the process. It would have been an impossible task without his valuable information.
I included some pictures. It fills the 20 inch wheel well a lot more nicely. Does anyone know a reputable site to purchase new hardware for two piece rotors? KNS brakes no longer sells the hardware separately. |

I cheaped out on everything honestly, except maybe the stainless steel braided brake lines, which I ended up installing all around my car anyways. I basically bought some Rock Auto generic (refurbished) calipers, and then basically bought some okay solid brake rotors and brake pads on there as well. They brake as good as my bone stock 5th gen Camaro SS brakes, but that's about it...
I saw a fair amount of used two-piece brake rotors for sale on Facebook Marketplace, although some were for 2nd gen CTS-V's and some were from 5th gen Camaro ZL1's and SS 1LE's. There were also some people with super old rotors, but I wanted to buy them for the hat, although finding hardware like you mentioned, was rather hard to find... |
