Funny Window Tint Story

So, me and the little lady headed out today to go get a couple of ribeyes for dinner. My windows here in CA are tinted about one shade too dark. According to the installer. Been on several years. Get followed by a CHP. He tailgates me and runs my license plate and then lights me up.

Get pulled over and get the universal question, "Do you know why I pulled you over?" I guessed it was a California Stop on red before turning onto the two-lane highway. He says no, "It's your window tint. I couldn't see your face."

Short story long, apparently all the drifting/donut people you see online in California, have become a menace. But when he sees my 69 year-old face and my wife's 60-year-old face, he blew it all off and let us go. He said, "People who drive cars like yours are going to these impromptu events and there's just not enough of us to stop it. They're gone when we get there. If I could have seen you, I would not have bothered."

So bottom line is, I was let go simply because I'm an old, Camaro drivin' bastard!

Was the window tint his probable cause? Doesn’t seem legit.
