Battery Replacement

Hi fellow Camaro enthusiasts! I have a 2014 2SS RS and my battery died after 5.5 years I am thinking of putting in an ACDelco battery. Is this a good idea?

Never had a problem with Delco AGMs. But YMMV. I don't see a downside here by using one.

I'm on my second battery and my car is 16 years old. I replaced my OEM battery with an ACDelco battery and I have been cammed for nearly the entire life of the second battery with minimal driving and no battery tender. It's held up this long, I'd replace it with the same again in the future.

Thank you! I really wanted a second opinion and you provided it! It is a testament to how the battery is preserved in the Camaro with it being only 18 month warranty and lasting 5 1/2 years

I replaced mine with a Die Hard Platinum AGM this last time. I did have one AC Delco go bad after only one year. My original AC Delco lasted about 7 years.

I was thinking of getting an AGM battery too, and wasn't too picky on the brand. I'm kinda broke right now and was just looking at all the different lead acid H7 batteries they had at my local Walmart stores.

For the H7 lead acid batteries at my local Walmart stores, they had a regular one and a heavy duty one (more cold-cranking amps, etc.). They also had an AGM one, for almost as much as the AC Delco Gold AGM H7 battery, just a tad less in cost.

My 2014 2ss rs has the OE batt. My wife's 2020 Toyota batt. lasted 3 yrs. Both are always garaged.

From my experience go with the ACDelco. I've had the walmart AGM and it and it's replacement crapped out. Got a ACDelco and haven't looked back. Paying a little more for a lot better battery is better than replacing it every year
