Let's Rekindle the Mystery Vibration on Acceleration
Probably more for you low-milers like me. Over the years, there has been a slow and steady rumble on full throttle acceleration. As in, entering the freeway. I'm a driveline guy and it does seem to be coming from the floor area.
Have we ever definitively tied this down to the driveline carrier bearing or something else? I moved from the mountains back down to the valley a while back l and didn't get much chance up there to nail it to 100+ miles an hour. But whatever it is, is still there.

367 looks and nada? Let me put it another way. Did anyone ever experience this problem and have it go away when they upgraded to a DSS carbon fiber or aluminum driveshaft? Or did you even notice?

It don’t come easy.

Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever felt it but, I don't normally do a lot of WOT pulls. More of a roll on kind of driver.

Never experienced this in the Camaro but I did experience something similar in a different vehicle and it ended up being the u-joint on the driveshaft.

I experience more NVH with an aluminum drive shaft. I did have a vibration like you describe for a bit, but I fixed an exhaust leak and a misfire and the vibration went away. I felt it in the driver's seat when accelerating in 5th or 6th on the highway.

Well I did experience some of that with my OEM driveshaft, but I figured it was just because it moved around so much it caused that. When I installed my solid cradle mounts most of it went away, then I installed the DSS 1 pc aluminum DS and picked up some more rearend noise, but not anymore vibrations than I already had. I just figured that the tires on the rear were the culprit being I do some wild burnouts once in a while and the tires get out of balance, I don't do them anymore because the tires are so expensive, but it seemed like the vibrations came from them when I got to a certain MPH. I could rev her to the moon in 1st and 2nd and 3rd gear and no vibrations, but when the MPH got up there on a WOT pull is when I felt it.

I would have to describe this as more mid range pulls. By that I mean, I'm in upper gears - 3rd, 4th, maybe 5th at around 4500-5500 RPM but...pedal to the metal. Almost like I'm lugging it a bit.* And maybe I am? Like it wants more RPM and or less throttle. Not sure?
But thx for chiming in, all! *but I'm letting the auto trans do the shifting
