2011 Camaro SS V8 Electrical Issues - HELP!
I’m new to the Camaro community and this forum, and I’m hoping someone here can help me troubleshoot an issue.
The car reportedly ran fine last fall and only has 40,000 KM on it. However, the driver-side window and sunroof stopped working and were left partially open. When I connect the battery, the hazard lights immediately start flashing. The dash lights up, but no other accessories work—no horn, radio, or windows (though the power door locks do). Even if I disconnect the radio bezel with the hazard switch, the hazards keep flashing. I’ve checked as many cables as I can for shorts but found nothing. All fuses tested and only 1 was blown (radio). I suspected a BCM issue, so I replaced it and had it flashed to the VIN, but the problem persists. The only wire still disconnected is under the hood—the one that connects the positive terminal to the alternator and starter. There was a fusible link there that melted when a locksmith jumped it to create the keys. The main line to the fuse block is still connected. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Update - I connected that alternator/starter wire temporarily and wouldn't you know it.. all my accessories work!!
My hazards are still flashing and sunroof is stuck but signficant progress. Not sure why those need to be connected but turns out they do. |

So, are you trying to troubleshoot electrical problems without wiring diagrams?
