Wheel and tires setup

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a 2015 Camaro LT. It currently has the stock 18" wheels, but I’m planning to upgrade to 20" wheels.

While researching tire sizes online, most recommendations point toward a staggered setup. However, I was wondering if anyone here is running a square setup (same tire size on all 4 wheels) on 20s.

If so, what wheel and tire sizes are you using, and have you had any fitment or drivability issues?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Literally every SS 1LE came from GM with a square tire setup.

even GM used a square set-up on the LE....and was done for handling purposes. I did it and worked loke a champ. I already had the staggered set-up on my car with the stock 20's, which had 275/20 on the rear. SO I got another pair of REAR wheels and 2 new tires the same size as the rears. They fit with no issues or rubbing. AND another PLUS of having a square set-up is you will be able to rotate your tires to even out tire ware.

Yeah, one of my friends has the 1LE and it has the 20 inch square setup on it, came the way from the factory. When it was time for new tires, he went with the same tires sizes on all 4's so he could rotate them and get more life out of them. From the factory the tires front and back were 2 different sizes for handling.

1LEs used 285s on all 4 corners. The rims are a different width and offset so you cant rotate them front/back. Also the OEM Goodyear Supercar G2s that came with the car were left/right directional. GM engineers discovered the 1LE rotated better in corners and turned faster lap times using that square 285 tire setup vs the staggered ZL1 285/305 combo.

There were rare cases that were documented on here where 1LE owners were getting their car with ONE rear tire being a 305 rather than the 285 it was supposed to come with.

My friends 1LE had 285'son the front, and 305's on the rear. I know that because we were always talking about tires and wheels, because he oroginally wanted to put a wider tire on the rear's.. But went back to square..
