Recent ZL1 purchase, gauging options.
Hello all, i recently purchased a 2013 Camaro ZL1 Coupe with M6 in Rally Yellow with 99,800miles and clean carfax, 2 owners, for $22k. Keeping story short it is mechanically fine, no issues, has the eaton solid isolator. All buttons, switches work, mag ride works fine, sunroof car with the exposed carbon hood insert. Interior is okay, few scuffs on dash, nothing crazy, rip in the driver seat by seatbelt. Big thing that wasnt disclosed was a smallish dent in the driver fender near front of wheel well.
Overall car runs and drive great, its a blast when ive had it out. I have a new set of tires to go on and recently installed a rotofab intake. Completely stock minus the intake. My point is, im trying to figure out what to do. Im waiting for a title, so have some time to think, but between dealer ive dealt with and the overall condition. I am debating back and forth about punting on this car and starting over. I bought it with the intention of having a fun daily, but im thinking i may have bought the wrong car. At any rate. KBB is 12-15k for a trade, (that's ridiculous) and private sale is 20-26k. Im wondering how hard a time id have selling it or if i should hold it for awhile. Im very familiar with these cars but what do you guys think?

A dent is the only issue with a 100k car and that’s why you want to sell it? Why not just get the dent fixed and keep the car?

The dent is not the only issue, it showed up dead off the trailer, dead fab, star knick in windshield, the hood insert has blemishes, theres two small dents on the fender,i replaced the isolator myself, the rip in the seat, the dashboard is marked up from a bunch of stuff previous owner had on it, it had pine needles and zipties throughout the trunk, aftermarket alarm i need to remove, roof drip moldings needed replacing, and i bought a set of tires being thats the only thing i was told it needed.
It showed up like a basket case and dealership who sold it to me has been terrible. They dont communicate well and i called them back after a month to see where my title was and they hadnt even finished contract cuz they needed a few wet signatures. I bought it cash and i realize not going to see a car leads to things, but man these people were straight deceptive, photographed things so i wouldnt see issues and between the paperwork not being done and things i mentioned ive been thinking about punting before throwing a bunch of money at a 100k mile car.

Holy crap that is a list! I’d wait for the title and think about it, but still maybe try to sell it lol

Im basically wanting to get some warm weather here in NJ, need it for adhesion promoter and epoxy for roof molding clips, ive got the tires in my barn and am going to put them on and go from there.
Im kinda thinking evaluate at that point but if it needs brakes or anything else i very well may try to find a buyer on my own. Have been wondering what kind of interest level i may get if i list it around 22-25k i mean if ive cleaned up a bunch of these issues, and potentially paintless dent removal the dent. Even if it isnt 100% it would look alot better. Then at that point its essentially a 99k mile ZL1 with no accidents and will be cleaned up. Perhaps i can get my money back out. Purchased for 22,100

IDK, I'm thinking fix the few things that bother you. Update maintenance items to your satisfaction and drive the heck out of it for a year or so. At that time you can decide keep or move on. You did say you wanted a daily not a cream puff show car. Sounds to me like this is a good candidate. You're not the first guy to get sub par treatment from an internet dealer but 580 HP, 6-SPEED man and 3.73 gears is gonna be a blast even with a few cosmetic blemishes.

Thats a fair response and i hear ya, im well versed on the cars and how to buy em but youre right about internet and dealers.
As far as car, ive got roof molding clips on the way, and have to throw on the new tires and change the oil. From there its brakes, windshield, fender. Not sure which of those ill end up doing. But i have a feeling the car will feel different with new tires. Picked up a set of General GMax as07's to have a nice cheap all season set. Heres the side roof molding i painted myself, other side i painted a new wall one for as well, but clips broke.

Well for what you paid and got, I'd do the elbow grease and be ahead of the game. On average you could spend 2x this on a cleaner lower mileage ZL1 but then you might not even drive it to enjoy. That's the good thing. You can jump in it at any time and just put a smile on your face without worrying about any depreciation.
Sounds like to me the perfect match. If you want a garage queen just keep your eyes open but likely you will not even look cause you already have the hottest girl in your arms.

You got a ZL1 for 22k and it'll be a great ride for weekends, shows, cars and coffee, etc. Clean, polish, repeat. Great therapy! 👍

Thanks fellahs, i do really like the car, just this has been quite the ordeal getting a damn baseline of what i even have. Sorta know now. Getting deceived despite your efforts isnt fun. I split miles with our Silverado, so id drive this prob 3/4 days a week minus bad storms. At most i drive it a year and have 102/103k miles on it. Prob worth the same as i bought it.
You guys think 22k is still high for the car? I mean it does drive like a 580horse LSA, steering and suspension feels good too.No accidents, 2 owner, car only had 62k miles in 2023, last owner put 18k a year for two years after that. Til i bought in December with 99,800. Runs great with the eaton solid isolator. Original plan was buy this puppy, drive her for a bit and add something else to the collection in a couple years. 5th Gen ZL1 coupe m6 was one of the "cars" i wanted for my collection long term. This is my fourth ZL1 for context, i had a black 2012 coupe auto, inferno 13' vert auto, red rock 14' vert m6, but never had the manual coupe. I intended this to be that car. Thanks for input those that have so far. I will add ive been saying to myself its a good thing its me that bought this car, cuz i can do most things myself and ive felt like im saving the car frankly!

Not knowing your financial situation, I think If The car Personally I would drain and replace every fluid and do a complete tune up. A good PDR guy can get a lot of dents removed without a trace. Id get a good alignment and good detail as the car does appear it could use it outside/inside engine bay. From there add the mods you want and enjoy. I think that you have the start of a really nice car that can be brought up to a level of others for less than you would spend on a lower mileage example. I would think some of the suspension parts that are getting worn or are already worn are parts you would want to upgrade anyway. Struts/shocks are an issue with these cars from what I read even on lower mileage units.

I'd keep it and fix it up! My first ZL1 (w/ far less miles and items to fix than yours) I feel I enjoyed more than my 2014 ZL1 because it wasn't so mint. I often look back and wish I just kept it and fixed some of the minor paint issues. I think you have a decent starting point to end up with a really nice car.
