Its a little late, But is there any reason I should not Cam and add LSA SC?

As I sit here and continue to acquire parts and move forward with my build is there any reason I should not? The car will be built right and Tuned correctly. Just wondering if I am going to really alter the way the car runs to th point it is not fun to drive. Right now I have a nice smooth running car, I am not one to bat on the car ( Not saying I don't get on it but I am not dropping the clutch and bouncing off the limiter ) Basically I am asking if I am ruining the car, I have a 3rd Gen Z/28 That I did that to and honestly its just not the most fun to drive on the street but it is a more track only orient car.

Youre probably tired of me commenting on your threads but......

I say no. Only problem you're going to really not like is traction. Trying to romp on the car traction will be an issue. PD blowers and their instant torque are hard on tires. Being built and tuned correctly, theres no reason it shouldnt drive extremely similar to stock. I think you're going to love it.

My car 800whp, drives pretty close to stock until the turbos spool.

No please keep commenting I appreciate all types of input. I have drieven some High HP cars, I am not that familiar with forced induction vehicles, I did do a couple track days using both Manual and Auto CTS-V's these were track prepped cars ( Suspension and Brakes ) but with mostly stock motors. These cars did drive nice and smooth engine wise.

I understand maintenance and the way yoiu drive will play a part but I am not looking for something that will not be reliable.

The only reason I didn’t add a LSA with my cam was that my wife asked me not to race the car. We had a friend whose car burned to the ground around when I was going to do the upgrades. Some old timers here will remember Genevieve. So I only did a cam swap, for now. Do both, you’ll love it!

I'll comment again on one of your threads because you're doing a somewhat similar build to mine at this point.

It's a lot of fun on the street. Mines nice and tame until I get on it. Having the proper tire is really important.

If you're used to being able to floor it everywhere doing spirited pulls from light to light, you will no longer be able to do that on any street tire.
So only downside is honestly it's not the safest car to drive after all these mods. But just be mature about it and don't be an idiot on the street and you'll be fine.

You're going to have to up your maintenance cycle though. Proper intervals of oil changes and brake fluid changes and whatnot is important. Checking coolant levels etc
So if you're not able to do that yourself, make sure you budget for that every year to have a proper shop maintain the vehicle for you.

I do most of my own work and have a shop at my houseand access to a shop for whatever else I may not have at home. There's probably not many people like me as far as maintenance goes, every fluid is changed on a regular basis no matter mileage, that goes for my tractors/ATVs/snowmobiles/mowers. People look at me like I am nuts lol. But my stuff is perfect.

Tires are something I'll have to figure out, I have always been into handling vs straight line speed, I also don't want to tear up my diff and axles , I am sure at some point I'll add a strange or something but I am by hoping to be able to hold off a bit on that.
