Check your wheels!

Some advice for anyone buying a Camaro (or any car really)- make sure the wheels weren't painted black instead of originally black! I got my Inferno Orange Camaro last June and wanted one with black wheels, found one, but as it turns out the wheels were actually chrome and were painted by a previous owner. How do I know this? Now that the car has experienced its first upstate NY winter, the paint (or whatever was covering the chrome) is peeling off everywhere. I'm not sure if they dipped/powdercoated/rattle canned, etc these wheels, but they didn't do it correctly at all. Painting over chrome seems like a mistake anyway, but it's too late to go back now obviously. I'll post up a couple pictures later when I leave work. You'll love the way this looks

I'll be looking at getting actual black wheels very soon I guess.

Heads up, yesterday I got an email ad from Phastek where they had some of their black wheels on sale.

That is a bummer. Try getting a high pressure hose on them real good and see if they peel off. Then clean them up and sell them for black wheels that you actually want.

A decent pressure washer would probably work miracles.

Just rub your finger on where it's peeling, should ball up or rub off
