Caster kit instllation question....
I have the Detroit Speed caster kit, and am ready to start grinding to do the install. The kit comes with the two bolt, nuts, and washers, and 6 eccentric washers. The eccentric washers, of the 6 there are two of each with the same offsets, 3 pairs total. There are fences on the brackets both inboard and outboard.
Let's assume, for the sake of discussion, that both sides end up needing the same amount of adjustment to be equal. Am I just using one washer per side? If so does it reside inboard or outboard? Or am I using one level of offset outboard and another inboard? I know some of this this gets figured out in alignment, which I will obviously be doing. And while their instructions do a decent job with the cutting portion they are a bit lacking for actual installation of components. Can't find anything on youtube about it, so figured I'd ask here. Pedders also used to offer a similar kit, was there's the same, or did they provide more eccentric washers? I appreciate any insight you might be able to provide. Thanks |

It seems the answers that I'm getting elsewhere are that I would only use one of the eccentrics for each side of the car, on the outboard side of the bracket, with nothing on the inboard side of the bracket.
I say poop to that. Since there are fences inboard as well, I'm just going to make some more eccentrics to match theirs and put them inboard and out. |

I believe I only used them on the outside and I had to do a little notching as I could not get the setting I was after even with the kit, I should have gone with adjustable rear control arms vs the fixed ones I did.
