Highway pull, just revved
2011 Camaro SS automatic. 415 stroker, blower, 3600 stall, 3.91 gears, Eaton tru trac.
Driving home today, when I hit the highway I wanted to do a little pull. I was probably doing around 50 mph in Drive and I stomped the gas and the car just revved up to 5000 rpms and I let off. I cruised for about 15 seconds and tried again and the same thing happened. I have an aftermarket trans dipstick and I will check the fluid tomorrow. If levels check out okay, what should I look into next? The car drives and shifts fine and never has done this before. |

Uneducated observation but I experienced this (and still kinda working it out) when I accidentally set the trans adapt preset and reset the fast adapt learn via hp tuners. I managed to get 1, 2 and 3rd gear to shift correctly via the former option and doing WOT pulls. I reckon it's something to do with torque management in the TCM in your case but like I said, it's a uneducated observation.

Sounds like you have overpowered the transmission, and the clutches are worn out causing the trans to slip.

I'm pretty sure it usually flashes, grabs and goes and this time it just revved high. I was worried to stay into it. The car doesn't get driven much and usually does not get driven hard.

Okay, it's definitely a flash. I just don't remember it taking "that long". I stayed in it, revved to 5000 and it engaged and took off.
