How often do you clean/wash your engine ?

Does engine cleaning/washing effect the engine ?

Does engine steam wash harm the engine ?

Don't spray a hard stream directly on electrical components.

But if steam washed the engine do i need to oil/grease any thing ?

No, you don,t have to oil/grease anything on the engine. All of the electrical conncetions are sealed, just don,t blast directly at them like 2010 2-Tone had said. If it is not to dusty where you are, run the car down the highway a few miles to circulate some air under the hood.

Steam cleaning is not needed.

Once a year use GM Engine Shampoo to return that new engine smell. Follow the instructions on the can.

About every six months I use simple green and pressure wash the engine bay, 150,00 miles later it still looks great.

Just never do it while your engine is hot and you'll be fine.

Just don't look at the bottom side of my hood..... That shows the miles it has on it.

GM shampoo is safe on the underside of the hood.... just apply with a cloth and rinse.

Thanks for the info. In Kuwait we have a lot of sand storms, so i have to clean the engine in regular basis (every 3 month or so). i searched for GM shampoo but with no luck. what other brand can i use? is STP okay ?

Any other shampoo I have used did not work as well and some stained my inner fenders.

I see the GM stuff on every dealers parts dept display.
