Wrecked Silverado 1500 LTZ

http://www.fosterauto.com/view_vehic...ehicle_id=Nzk0

I need your guys opinion. I've found this wrecked Silverado LTZ and wonder if it would be a good deal to buy. It seems it only has body panel damage, but has right side deployed air bags. Do yall think it would be cheap to repair, and by cheap I mean if I could get it under $20,000 repaired and all.

Hard to say, I think there is more damage than we can see. Looks like the pictures stayed away from certian areas of the truck.

I called the place and she said she didn't know if there is frame damage or not. From the looks of it, the truck looks to have only panel damage. I know those airbags are going to cost around a $1,000 a piece, but I'm not sure rather to buy this truck or not. It's not everyday you see a 12,000 mile truck that would msrp mid to high 30Ks that you can fix for probably under $20,000. I'm not sure on the cost of fixing it though...

you can get one at a better price than that. shouldnt cost you more than about 3k if you do a lot of the work yourself.

ever watch Trucks on SpikeTV? check out their "Second Chance Silverado"

similar damage and didnt spend much to fix it.

You can find a fully loaded one in the same condition for less? I don't think so lol. How much do you think the panels would cost? I'll need a passenger side door, the other little midget door lol, and the whole back fender panel. Plus the two deployed airbags which cost somewhere around $1,000 a piece.

add some mileage to it unless you absolutely have to have something with less than 20k miles.

the doors and airbags you can probably find at a junkyard, might not be color matching, but you can get them painted.
the back panel http://goodmarkindustries.com/ or www.lmctruck.com

ebay for the parts. go watch the show Trucks. they bought a truck just like this only a little older with ~60k on the odo IIRC and only spent a few thousand fixing it up.

I really don't know, but seeing as how the pillar, and/or the frame was f***** up, along with what the pics don't show, it may be something big. There's a reason it's totaled.

Best idea is to find a dealer that goes to dealer auctions, and who won't rip you off, and to go with him or her, and find the car/truck that you want. You will save at least 5 grand, even 10 gs. Once the dealer brings it back, he or she, will probably keep it for 2 or 3 days, and really shouldn't charge more than 100 bucks a day. It's not illegal, and you will find the truck you want at a really good price.

Yeah I see what all of you are saying. I don't think I'm going to buy it. If it seems to good to be true then it probably is.

I'll sell you my 09 GMC Sierra Crew SLT. Has the all terrain package too, (2 tone seats, 5 spoke chromes etc etc etc.) It may cost a bit more than the totaled one...

In all seriousness, a lot of times it's the damage you can't see. Almost have to go down there and check it out and see how bad it really is.
