V6 power....

I am for sure getting the LS but I want to know what you guys think of the power for it. During break-in and after. I test drove one that definitly didnt feel like it should. Had like 2 miles on it. Either way I'm getting the camaro and the LS. Just want to know your thoughts on everyday power. I will be modding

You will love it.......one thing to keep in mind. The LS is governed at 115 mph. UNLESS, the only, from the factory way, is on an LS to plop down the $4800 for the 21" wheel option, in which you get the 21"s and the standard wheels/tires. OR get the LT and go for the 20" optional wheels for $750. either way, its top end is goverened at 155 mph. OR find a shop that can do a TUNE and remove the governor.

I love mine to death! Sure it would be nice to have an SS but I'm more than happy with my LT. I've done exhaust and intake and its a little more responsive which was my only complaint.

If you don't care about top speed the LS would be just fine I have 1800 miles on ours now and it is very peppy.. seems funny that just about every Mustang I have encountered seems to let me pass no matter what speed we are going. ( i don't think most owners of mustangs can tell the difference between a V6 and V8 Camaro).. then just as they are about to turn off they will fly up past me and turn..., I sprung for the 1LT because I liked the Wheels better, and it came with the power driver's seat and fog lamps..

God, spring needs to get here!! I want to get mine to the track ASAP!

To the OP, this v6 is extremely strong. It's fun factor, at least for me, is off the charts. The 2nd funnest car I've owned, only the wife's old Mini Cooper S was funner. Not by much though, as straight line and top end belong to the Camaro. It's a great motor in a great looking car.

GT must have been snoozing, or they weren't racing. When I was at the track the GT took me by about 1.5-2 car lengths.

actually... this was my annual outing with a bunch of mustang buddies... the driver STALLED his GT... needless to say he took some serious needling loosing to a V6 Camaro! LOL!

And of course... here's my car beating another GT... this time a different buddy who totally blew his launch, spinning wildly to like the 60' mark! LOL! My car ran a 15.224 to his 15.226 (30 MPH HEAD WIND! LOL)

This was actually a Shelby GT (not a GT500)... this video sure has made the rounds... my poor buddy sure got harassed over this one! LOL!

Don't know about every v6 owner. I've seen a few (very few) here who may have some regrets not getting the v8 but not me. I'm enjoying what the LLT offers and it has more than enough power for me. The fun factor has not deminished.

Atco Raceway is supposed to open later this month, weather permiting and I've been practicing my launches. I'm aiming to reduce my 0-60' times by .2 and that should put me closer to 14 seconds in the 1/4.

Not bad for a six.

My favorite story....

Sitting at a light when I first got the car back in May, and a car pulls along side and I hear the two guys talking about the Camaro. The driver says to the passenger, "it ain't the V8...I didn't see no SS badge on the back."

So I punch it and take off. They catch up at the next light and the driver asks me if I took the badges off or did I somehow get the V-8 in a base Camaro. I told him it had the V6 and he says "Wow, cool man, that thing boogies."

Permagrin on my face the whole time!
