MGW, if you go with anything else youll love it.... UNTIL you try a MGW, then you will realize the horrible mistake you made

And George is AWESOME

You know he's offering his new knob assembly to those who have already bought for $25 off?

Ill never buy another shifter from here on out

Install is a little tough but it's the nicest unit out. As said above, you'll like any shifter until you try this one. Leaps and bounds over any shifter I've put in any other car. George at MGW is awesome to deal with and willing to answer any/all questions you might have.

I installed an MGW in my M6 SS around Thanksgiving. I was blown away by how much better it was over stock. The shifts are short and quick and the feel is much better. I haven't missed a shift since installing it. Before with the stock shifter, when running through the gears quickly I seemed to get hung between 4-5 or 5-6....not anymore. I can run through the gears as fast as possible and no hangs.

The install wasn't too bad. It took me somewhere between 1.5 - 2hrs. A key point on the MGW is that it is a complete shifting assembly replacement and not just the shaft. When I pulled the stock assembly out and compared it side by side with the MGW, the stock unit looked really sad. The MGW unit is that well designed and assembled! IMO you can't go wrong with MGW. Also, you can use the stock shifter knob with the MGW. I have the stock knob on mine but waiting to see what George/MGW comes out with shortly. Also, you can use the stock shifter knob with the MGW. That's what I did, but I'm waiting to see what George/MGW comes out with as far as new knobs.

MGW ... hands down best shifter I have ever owned. I had one in my 04 cobra. I have tried, Pro 5.0, Steeda Tri-ax, Hurst ... MGW still wins out IMO.

IMO, I would go with the MGW. However, if you are leaning toward the MTI, I would actually go with the Barton. The only difference between the MTI and the Barton is 2 bushings and a bearing in the center shaft. If that is worth $190 to ya then go with the MTI. I have always thought that the MTI was horrendously overpriced for what you get. By the way, the Barton has a throw reduction of around 40% compared to the MTI which is 25%. The Barton's shifter height can also be adjusted. Actually, I don't understand why anyone would go with the MTI. Way too much money compared to other shifters out there!
