Line Lock

I wasn't sure where to post this question so if you need to move this Mods go ahead.

So I was watching the video of the Bada$$ 2010 Cassill Camaro 2SS RS with 1000 HP and saw that they put the line lock button on the shifter knob. Now I don't have a lot of knowledge about these so I was wondering what would happen if the button accidentally got pushed while driving the car. Would the tires lock up or is there a safety mechanism built into those things to prevent that.

Just trying to enlighten myself here.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my next
Track fix.

I sure hope it has something in there that prevents it from locking when it's being driven.

Most people have a master arm switch mounted somewhere else.

A Line Lock is an electronic solonoid that controls a valve which is in line with the front brakes. Normally, the valve is open and allows fluid to pass through to the front brakes as usual. However, while the front brakes are applied and the solonoid is activated, the valve closes to trap the fluid in the front brakes keeping them applied until the control is released. So unless you flip the switch and hit the brakes at the same time should be good . It should be a switch not a button .

I used on both of my Mustangs when I raced all the time. They are a beautiful thing to have.

Good question....Most don't think of these things.

BTW-The line lock does not apply the brakes.
Thank you Andy. I started this because I didn't want to jack the other thread.

Thank you Viper. With your description and Andy's reply a light bulb has gone off, however dim it may be, he he he.
