Frank Thomas (chicago white sox)

Hey guys,

Frank Thomas officially retired today. I am 28 years old and Frank Thomas was my favorite player growing up in chicago.

I just wanted to express my thanks to the Big Hurt and say that he should be a first ballot Hall of Famer. In an era of steroids Frank was clean and spoke out against them. WITHOUT Steroids Frank had 521 homers and a .301 batting average and ranks as the 15th best slugging percentage all time.

Anyone who thinks Frank is not a Hall of famer is flat out wrong.

Frank, Thank you for all the great memories on the south side of chicago!

Harry Caray once said "there is a special place in a young boys heart for his favorite player, this special place never goes away nor do the memories of the player, it remains special until the day you die".

Amen!

I still have the first Frank Thomas t-shirt I ever had from back in like '91 (MAYBE '92) It's quite tattered, but I still have it.

now that he's retired, I can pull out my jersey and wear it again... hated to wear it while he was with Oakland/Toronto.

A quiet Man among men, a Tribute to the Sport....

Enjoy the retirement Frank, Would love to see him alongside John Kruk, who I feel is one of the better sports announcers I've ever heard...

Thomas was over rated and and an average first baseman at best.

Ok, that was a joke.
Favorite Frank Thomas moment; 94 or 95, He's at the plate trying to call time out with his right hand, only one hand on the bat, a-hole plate ump won't give it to him, ball leaves pitchers hand and Thomas, in what seemed like one fluid movement, turns back toward the pitcher, puts his right hand on the bat, and deposits the ball into the outfeild bleachers. It was awesome

and i know you were joking but thomas isnt going into the HOF for his defensive skills. He's going in for his offensive numbers.

and by the way. When thomas was still playing 1st base he was as good as anyone at picking a low throw in the dirt to get the out!
