Headroom: Sunroof vs. No Sunroof?

Hi All,

I've been looking hard as getting a 2LT as a daily driver (good weather only, otherwise my Tundra).

Went and sat in one at the showroom and.. It seems to have very little headroom.. I spent a lot of time getting the seat down/back so that my head wasn't pressed against the roof. I'm only 5'11".

I've been driving in an SUV or pickup for the last 15 years.. How long does it take to get used to driving from the recliner position?

Is there more headroom if there is no sunroof? (I really want the sunroof)..

Thoughts?

ps. My high school/college car was a '67 - it was fun.
Thanks

There are quite a few threads on this so you might look into those. Yes, there is more head room (I believe 1.5" - 2"). There are quite a few taller guys than yourself that have the sunroof and say they can fit well.

The Reverse Mowhawk gives you a bit more room...

Yeah, you lose a bit of headroom with the sunroof. But I'm 6'1", have a sunroof (after having T-tops for years I had to have something!!), and still have a tad bit of room above my head.

I drive an SUV as well as my 2010 Camaro with sunroof. I'm 6' with no trouble with the sunroof. I just don't "jump" up as high in the Camaro when adjusting my sitting position. I enjoy the contrasting driving experiences. LOVE my "sunroofed" Camaro on nice weather days.

I am 6'4" with a 2SS/RS with Sunroof and I have to lean the seat back, but I am used to it now. Wouldn't have it any other way..

i've drove both. I'm 6'02" and the sunroof is a pain. Much more room in the non-sunroof version.

I am also 6'1" tall and do not have any issues unless I have sunglasses resting on my head. I do need the seat to be all the way down, but I do not need to lay the seat back at a crazy angle. So....no issues with me. I am VERY glad that I got the sunroof - and it is very quiet when opened and driving down the expressway.

I am very happy with my Sunroof. You also have to consider that you are not used to driving in a sports car and you will benefit from the extra light it lets through.
