2010 V6 auto paddle shift question

When I'm paddle shifting it sounds great, feels great...

But the auto down shift feature seems weird.

From 40MPH, down to about 10MPH - 0MPH it down shifts to M1 and it kinda, knocks, or kinda like nosedives a bit...

ever since it happened about 2-3 times, I never wanted to paddle shift on the streets ever again. Only when racing er.. Keeping up with the flow of traffic

does anyone else have this?
or anyone else know what this is?

Must be a V6 thing. My SS A6 will never go to M1, only M2. I have to manually tap down to get M1 at a stop.

Very interesting.
I also have an SS and as mentioned it will only down shift to 2nd (automatically) when coming to a stop or at a slow speed in tap shift mode. You must manually tap it down to 1st gear.

My car also downshifts very smoothly in tap shift mode and it does it at pretty slow speeds for each gear (thus making it very smooth).

Yeah everyother gear is smooth, 'cept when down shifting to 1st.

SS goes to M2 instead, because it's just faster, and it will act and perform as the V6 does, in M1

paddle shifting

mine seems to do this as well. but only seems to do it when 1: i forget to tap it down and it does it by itself or 2: i tap it down at a very low rpm. if you down shift from a higher rpm down into first it seems to be fine. Was hoping they would have an update to the system to correct this tho it doesnt sound very good for the car or for my ears.

I looked at other threads & didn't find anything on Tap Shift problems..
My problem so far is when I shift into 6 gear. Before it goes into 6 it revs higher as if it went into neutral before it got into gear. It happened 3 times today. At 75 MPH & 80 MPH. My wife gets mad at me thinking it's me shifting wrong... [IMG]http://*************/forum/images/smilies/logo_facepalm.gif[/IMG] So has anyone else had these problems in any gears.... I was watching mine on the way into work today and did NOT experience this issue.

I have the exact same issue with my 1LT!

I've asked about this before in other threads and there are a few out there with the same problem. It definitely does not feel right.

I think I'll be visiting the dealer on this one.

Let me know what your dealer says about this.

They won't do anything unless there is a TSB on it...

Even if it's obvious that there shouldn't be a lurching from 2nd to 1st?

No car shifting gears should feel this way.

My 1LT A6 also does this. I have to shift into 1st around 15-17 mph to make it not happen so I don't like using tap shift because of that. Can't just do a normal smooth low rpm transition

Has anyone ever taken their car to the dealer to resolve this issue?

I been considering taking the car to the dealer, but since this is my only drive...It's going to be a long walk back home :P
