Engine Power Reduced Problem LS3 M6 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Well, this just happened to my fiancee' to this morning. She saw the check engine light, traction control light and " engine power reduced" message on.

So she called me at worked and asked if I had done anything to her car yesterday and I was like "no". She just went back to her car and it doesn't do it now. We have no mods done to the car and it is 100% bone stock with 5800 miles. Anyone know what is going on?

You have some kind of problem with your throttle or gas pedal. The system will reset itself when you turn the ignition off. It should have a trouble code stored in the pcm. Take it to the dealer and get it checked.

maybe she put bad gas or low octane gas in the car??

Thats also an over heat condition if I remember correctly.

It will happen again, bring it to the dealership immediately. I drive a lot of impalas and have had that happen a few times, usually from beating the hell out of it. Check the oil too, it may be low, but the dealership will be able to identify the problem.

I can assure you she hasn't beaten the hell out of it. It's got 5xxx miles on it and I've changed the oil twice already with Royal Purple. This car is babied. And as far as an overheat problem, it was in the 30's yesterday morning when it happened. She had Onstar run a diagnostic and it has to do with the throttle sensor. She dropped it off at the dealership this morning.

93 Shell has been put in the car since the dealership filled it up
