If you want the most consistant tire pressure I would use Nitrogen. That is exactly why the race car teams use it.

We use it in the Camaro but not the Vette. I was told that Nitro helps keep the chrome from going bad. No idea if it works...LOL

There's a couple of threads on this...My feeling, it's better to use it, however, think of refills or top offs...
You can spend $16 ( or such) at Costco for a first time fill, then subsequent refills are free. However, it is SUCH a hassle to do every time I need a few pounds, that I gave up... So, if it's easy to get, then go for it! Otherwise, it's not worth it - IMO...

My feeling is that IF your tires are going to last 40-50k miles (several years), it may be worth it. Since the PZero's would be lucky to last more than 12-16k miles (~1yr), what's the point.
On the Racecar note, they're speeds and traction are tire pressure dependent so that's why they use it. For a DD, you don't need to be that precise.

Long as your able to keep on top of it, ya know access to the gas to fill up n down as needed... its great.
tired it but got sick of havign to take time to visit the tire dealer, wait for cars to get out of the way. Some reason they won't put a hose out front ![]() Probably 90% air in mine again by now. And is easier, I can fill my own tires at home 24/7 If I was richer though id pay for a tank to keep around. A small suba type tank can do like 20 tires. |

What....Costco? Will have to check that out.
I did it, but am sorry I did. If you will keep the tires on the car always, do it. Top offs are an issue. I am also plan on changing wheels/tires when I go to the track. Everytime I do, I will have to reset the TPMS sensors by letting the air(nitrogen) out & refilling. That means going somewhere to do it, paying someone more money, or buying a nitrogen bottle and refilling it. I have a 5gal air bottle, but don't know if I can use that. Did not think this one all the ay through. SOP

Interesting...
It's dry, that's a great benefit. Among other things, pressure sensors hate being drenched in moisture. Top-offs dilute it, but perhaps it's still dry enough to provide a benefit. Costco DOES rock the nitrogen. |

If the tire shop filled my winter tires with it, then I see no need for it. I lost 5 lbs of pressure when it got cold.
Most of the "air" that you breathe is nitrogen anyhow. |

I run a 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 0.93% argon mix in all my tires.

I must agree. I have 12k on mine and they are not even close to being done. I guess, the more you play the quicker you pay.
