my Test drive of the SS 6spd

test drove 2SS 6spd today..awesome
brakes are very strong
clutch was quick but got use to it pretty fast, shifted nice
power.... it would push you back in the seat even at low rpm
the engine sound........what radio..lol.. I could listen to that engine all day long..
the drive was better than expected firm but not harsh
it just felt right, it was perfect inside, I have no complaints except

What color am I going to order????????? lol

I love the car, thanks to this great forum for reading up and researching before trying out. GM you built a winner this time around, sales prove it

I don't know to many dealers that will let a teenager drive a sports car. Good luck. Just keep asking, you might find someone let you take one for a drive.

No harm in trying however I doubt they would.

I'm wondering the same thing... 21 years old, driven stick before but never regularly. I know how to do it but I'd prefer to go to an empty parking lot with the SS I'm test driving first to get used to it quickly then take it to the road... If I told a dealer this, do you think they'd let me test drive a manual 2SS?

I know what you mean seadog. I don't ever listen to my radio. I just love hearing the sound of the car shifting through the gears.

As long as you are serious about buying, I don't see why they should have a problem with that. If they do, try another dealer. The car is nice, no question about that, but it's not a Ferrari, or even a Corvette for that matter.

Most dealers will ride along on some test drives. Ask if they will so you can get the feel for it, if you show good skills, they might ley you take it out alone.

My dealer has a half mile strip from the front of the dealership to the back, and that's where they let you test drive their high performance cars such as the SS camaro or any of the corvettes. I would test drive the automatic just to get a feel for the car if you aren't a regular manual driver. I am getting the manual, but I chose the automatic, since I would be on the lot and didn't want to accidentally tear anything up or you know...
