Center Dash Speaker on BA System
Ok so I was detailing my clients new 2SS today and it was the first time I had seen/or paid attention to the upgraded BA system. Boy what a difference over my 1SS.
My question is if anyone knows if the 2SS has a completely different dash pad or is it just cut out for the center speaker. I have the indentation there on my 1SS dash, so Im hoping it is just a cut ot to install. Any of you Audio wizards out their have an idea. Thanks

I'll be ya a dollar to a dime that your 1SS is already wired to accept a center mount speaker there as well. GM (Chevy in particular) is notorious for wiring all their models the same.
I've yet to even SEE a 1SS so I couldn't tell ya. I reckon everyone 'round here went for the gusto and the 2SS....... -Ivan |

.....you never read my other post in the other radio thread, did you.....where you asked how to take it out....![]() There are 4 tabs holding the plastic cover in......two on either side that are horizontal...meaning running left to right. You need a trim tool to slide under the cover on the side. Gently pry it up enough to where you can slip your finger under there and just run your finger around. Yes...it's in there good. But, you can pop it off. After popping it off, you will see the screws holding it on. Just unscrew, pull out and unplug...voila! Change out the speaker. ![]() I can show you next Friday how to remove the plastic cover if you'd like. |

So the BA system in a 2SS is different than the BA system in a 1SS , or are you saying that the BA is better than your non-BA SS?

OK, I have a 1SS with the added feature of a "BOSTON ACOUSTIC" package for like an additional $400.00. Sounds great by the way.
My question is where are the NINE speakers: (2) rear deck, (2) doors, (2) small on doors next to window and center channel on dash.

I had the same damn question and the answer is that 2 of the speakers(I cannot remember which 2 while I sit in my office) actually has 2 speakers built into it. That counts for speakers 8 and 9. Pretty cheesy I agree! I think it is the 2 rear speakers have a low and mid range in each. Hope this helps!
