Trim on the dash supposed to light up?

I know the edge of the trim on the doors lights up blue at night, but is the passenger side dash trim supposed to light up too? It looks like the edge is the same, but mine is dark.

i think originally it was supposed to, but they had trouble getting it to look good, so they left it not lit up there. there are a few people on here that have done it themselves and there should be a DIY thread on it somewhere.

ETA: brtaus beat me to it! hahaha

Does anyone know of companies or dealers doing the LED install for the front accent trip lighting? I am not confident enough to do it myself and I really want it done and I would be happy to pay someone to do it. I live in northern Ohio and I would love to find a someone to do it for me.

if your not comfortable doing it yourself, my suggestion would be to find a reputable custom shop or stereo shop! show them the pictures on the forum on the DIY threads and tell them to run with it! they may have an idea for a better way to do it.

Actually it was a safety concern. They were afraid the glow would either distract drivers or cause an unnecessary glare with the driver. That being said I fully intend to attempt the DIY approach.

Here at camaro5.com we discussed it calmly a year ago. Nobody pitched a fit when they decided not to do it.

DIY! Very easy to do. Follow the thread where you get the lights from GM for $20 each, then a tube from digikey. I can't find the thread right now to post a link here, but it's the cheapest and easiest way to do it. Just because I'm saying cheapest, doesn't mean it looks cheap, it's the same stuff GM used. Definately don't follow the thread with light tape. Way to expensive!
