MTI sway bars

Got around to installing my MTI "Big Red" sway bars in my 2SS/RS yesterday. Took only 2 hours 5 minutes from rolling into the garage to rolling out of the garage for a test ride which included coaching my 15 year old son ( just learning to turn wrenches ) as I had him install the rear bar. I've read in numerous sway bar threads of problems folks had removing the stock front bar. I had no such problem. Once the car was in the air with the passenger side wheel removed, I turned the steering full right to facilitate the stock bar removal. The MTI bars are solid in the front and tubular in the rear with machined ends welded to the bars, the rear bar is 3 way adjustable. Frankly they look exactly like "P" bars except the MTI bars are powder coat red and the "P" bars are powder coat silver. Fit and finish of the MTI bars is 1st class. I have the rear bar installed in the middle of the 3 holes and so far I'm 100% satisfied that all the factory under steer has been dialed out. I have factory springs, struts and wheels/tires on my car and the MTI bars absolutely removed the body roll/lean and tendency of loading the front outside wheel the stock bars have. I also have the MTI shifter in my car and have to say the MTI shifter and sway bars are the best 2 mods I have done to my car. Give Kevin a call at MTI Racing, great people with great products. They don't seem to market themselves like teams "E", "H" and "P" do, I guess they just let their products speak for themselves which is working very well for me. Ed M.

Glad to hear you are enjoying yor Camaro, not only driving the car but wrenching on it as well. I think the best part of your post is the fact your getting your son involved with helping turn wrenches. I knew you would like the shifter right from the get go and the swaybars really flatten out the car. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Thanks.

Thanks Kevin. My son and I worked this past year on transforming his '96 V6 5speed Mustang convertible from "grandpa's Stang" to a great handling, hard stopping Ford with manageable power, especially for a new driver at 15 years old. Would love to see him drive his Stang around the Talladega road course. Attached is a picture of him navigating the Dragon on 3/7/10. For the Camaro, once I install my CAI later today I'm finished......well if you come up with some stiffer than stock ( not solid aluminum ) rear cradle mounts/bushings I can be talked into that...... Ed.

Anyone going to the Camaro5Fest in Atlanta and considering sway bars and shifter upgrades, take a look at what MTI has to offer. Or look for me, RJT 2SS/RS with a TN tag "Ed SSRS". You won't be disappointed. All too often today price becomes the deciding factor for a choice made, guess I'm old school and prefer to buy the best performing product, price is of little concern. Ed M.
