Royal Purple or Amsoil?

Ok...I know this is about to start a fight but hopefully we can keep it clean.

For rear end oil should I get RP or Amsmoil?

I like the fact that I can get RP from the local parts store and I know these two are very comperable oils. Haven't checked into the price but for one quart I can't imagine it being a big price difference.

I was suggested to use Mobil 1 for the trans and I'll probably go that route for the trans because I've used Mobil 1 for years and haven't had any issues.

Lets start the feed back......:fighting0040:

I personally would go with RP. Unfortunately the interaction that I have read on this site reflecting Amsoil has not impressed me in the least bit. I to am going to change both the differential and trans oils, as I said the representation of Amsoil has been poor.

Cheers
K

What representation are you in reference too? Try going up to the Amsoil site and RP site and compare specs. How about a magazine that tested both? http://www.greatoil4less.com/default/FastFours.html

Check out Redline. So far the customer service has been excellent. Research indicates they use some of the best synthetics and the "independent" testing sites dont all go back to amsoil.
