White vinyl life? BLACK with WHITE vinyl

Well I've been flipping back and forth between colors and finally came down to where I started...which is BLACK. So now i'm leaning towards BLACK with the white rally stripes OR the white Hockey stripe package BUT...im worried that over time..like 5 years or so that the white will begin to fade grey or turn off white or yellow :(

Hows the life on white vinyl? Will it start to change colors if it isnt washed correctly with a special vinyl product?

BTW Users with this color combo....beautiful freakin cars just beautiful so shine in your imput too.

Thanks

Vinyl (striping) generally lasts 3-5 years. Areas where there is more heat (IE the hood) generally develop fading cracking sooner than the sides of the body, mainly due to direct sunlight and heat from the engine. So long as you keep white vinyl clean and waxed you should not experience any issues. Besides in 3-5 years you may decide you don't like the stripes in which case you can change them.

That's the beauty of vinyl, just peel it off and replace or paint. Wax and a garage will do wonders and shade when parking outside if possible. UV rays and heat are the enemies of vinyl and plastic.

Get them painted right from the start. I have seen a couple cars that have the stripes lifting already. To me they are just a big glorified sticker that will have problems later in time.

stickers that have been on for five years in the hot sunny climates (think Arizona) are baked beyond belief and very difficult to remove, I used to do stripping and graphics packages on semis and motorhomes and we'd spend days removing them and only four or five hours installing new. I think painted stripes are much better. My 67 was bright yellow and had the chromellusion stripes painted on (changed colors in the sun) and I'm thinking I will do the same thing again when I finally get my '10 camaro.

I change my mind so much that I will get Vinyl (270.00 installed) and after 6 months or so have it painted if I am still happy Its a lot sheaper than repainting a different color. Im undecided between Orange, Silver, and White.
