You'll see Camaro's for speed enforcement, but not much else because of size issues.

Today's officer has so much equipment to carry most need more room than the trunk in the Camaro provides. And that doesn't even address the issue of prisoners.

But for Highway Patrol functions I can see the SS being used much like the IROC was in the early 90's.

The Charger is a better option than the Crown Vic, however the new Chevy Caprice is likely to fill the best of both worlds option better than the Charger. The interior size of a Crown Vic with performance of a Charger, plus many police specific features (two batteries, computer mounts, beefed up suspension, cooling system etc) built in.

I agree with everything you stated. I was mainly refering to Highway Patrol. Around here Police and Sheriff Depts have chargers as special vehicle, speed and aggressive traffic units.

the thought crossed my mind about stopping and checking out the cars, but didn't have the time. Was curious to see if they also had the $4k wheel package. It didn't appear that the Iowa one was an RS because of the Black roof molding, but couldn't say for 100% sure

Maybe someday, Chevy will roll out a B4C Package for the PD's.

One of my buddies in our cluib, bought a 4th Gen - B4C from a local dealer when the order wasn't sold. Pretty cool car acutually.

I like the unmarked Chargers they have here in RI, the Black one is awesome looking when all the strobes are on.
