Okay, I figured out that the rear bumper needs to come of ever so slightly to get to the reverse lights. I figured since the license plate lights were 194s the reverse lights had to be something similar, and I had a bunch of LEDs sitting around, so I figured I'd find out for myself. So about 20 minutes later, I was able to pop the bumper off and found that the reverse lights were twist lock style bulbs, not a wedge style (shit). So, my question is, anyone know where to get an LED replacement for this? It's bottom of my priority list now that I found the only way to get to them is take the bumper off.

It's a phillips ph16w. I checked the usual sites I go to (superbrightleds.com and autolumination.com) but they didn't have anything that looked even remotely similar.

woow,we'll have to remove the whole bumper to replace bulbs ... You'd think they would design an easy access for this ..

The yellow tinted light bulbs look crappy...

Seriously I tried every route until I figured I just had to pull it. I bet we could just find an LED bulb that would work, and just solder it in the mounts. I just want it to match my license plate lamps.

Get chrome dipped bulbs for your front turn singals from autolumination.com. ULTRA cheap not to mention they have a lot of 194 LED bulb options for REALLY cheap...

I wish I read this before I did my 10 minutes of reverse light recon today. I gave up after figuring out the bumper needed to be pulled to access the reverse light bulb. Stupid design for servicing. The #12184 bulb(per Sylvania) picture is no where to be found. I wanted to see if I could retro a 3-10 watt CREE bulb or see if I can fab a VisionX for the lights. I don't mind paying $$$ for a bright AND reliable replacement since it'll be a pain for maintenance.

I would hate to use a replacment system that burnt out LEDs every so often and needed to pull the bumper for RMA every single time.

Need to be patient and put this project on the back burner.

Are the smoked still brighter than the stock lights? Any pictures compairing light output at night of stock vs clear vs smoked?

I JUST installed the AAC reverse lights on my IOM and they look great and I can see! They are so freaking bright! Great job AAC!

The camaro does require special bulbs for the reverse lights. To date AAC is the only company out there that makes a replacement . Unless you're someone crazy like me to build something LOL
