HooD Artwork Painted or decal? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I was thinking I would do a little art work on the hood (very subtle) and was wondering if it would be better to air-brush it on or have a decal made? Are there special decal materials used for hoods (heat sensitive). A decal would seem easier with clear coat issues etc.

Lightly sand the hood, get your artwork done and Re-Clear it.

Would look much better than a decal.

Do you sand the whole hood or just the spot you have air brushed?

you are going to need to sand/scuff the whole hood to re-clear it once done no turning back if you do not like the artwork without repainting the hood again,i would get the artwork done in a decal first and make sure it grows on you a little but, if you decide to keep it,then remove the decal and do the art work . you can not do that as easily if you paint first and do not like!!!!

Good idea ProstZ28...I was thinking of a clear decal with the artwork. Can they do that and then you can't see the clear only the artwork?

We can do custom designs or add custom designs to any of our decals.
