PFADT POLY DIFF BUSHINGS (GEAR WHINING) NOW
Just installed my PFADT rear diff bushings last weekend,Now I am noticing allot of gear whining under very slight load in gear.If you let off gas goes away or if give a Little more gas it will also go away.In 5th and 6th gear light cruise it is allot more noticeable also,It was not their before, the bushings were installed.I was wondering if any one else is having this problem and can I use a different bushing maybe a Little softer?

Did you get the differential installed correctly back into position? This almost sounds like it is tilted or cock-eyed. Just enough that it binding? That make sense or am I off in left field?

Left Field...The diff will only fit in the correct position. Can't possibly tilt or bind it.

mine do too.... I thought it was my 4.10s but it does not do it all the time! I talked to my install guy and he said the gears are PERFECT. I am experiencing the EXACT same whine as you, only at certian speeds and not at coast or accelleration, most noticable at 50-60 cruising. hmmmm??? Lets see what the toe bars and trailing arms do... they go on in 2 weeks.
I will be watching this.

If the ring and pinion gear are set too loose or too tight it will whine neither is good. If it were mine I would get it corrected soon. In fact the next time I drove it would be to the shop to have it corrected. If you continue to drive it like this causing improper wear you may never be able to get the noise out. Just My Opinion

This is probably normal noise that is only more noticable now because the lack of insulation that these stiffer bushings provide. Pfadt makes a hell of a product but not everybody is going to enjoy driving a race car everyday and unfortunately this is the give and take relationship with performance parts.

This is what I am thinking too. I am experiencing the EXACT scenerio as the OP, noise at the same times but my installer tells me my 4.10s gear pattern is perfect. Checked and rechecked so he is not sure why the noise is there and why it is so speratic. If the OP has factory 3.45s still in his car and is exeperienceing the same noise I can only assume it is from the bushings.
