Problem with my XM on my Camaro. - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So I let my XM expire for about 1 or 2 days before I was able to renew it. However, even after I paid for the year, my XM doesn't work. All I get is "channel not authorize" on every channel.

I called XM so they can resend the signal but it still doesn't work.

Anyone know how to fix this? I've tried talking to a live operator but I lose patience waiting. Stupid computers. Help!

Not much you can do but wait to talk to someone they will need the Radio ID# you will need to have them on the phone and once you are done talking to the it can take up to 1 hour to activate.

I used the website about 3 different times before the radio finally got the authorization.

Verify your radio ID, call again for them to send the re-authorization and make sure you're parked outside with no obstructions for at least an hour.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on satellite radio...

You'll just have to keep calling back, you might have all the channels blocked - though I don't think that's the case since you can turn to them. Either way, good luck.

Thanks for the replies. My next question is. While I try this does my car have to be on for an hour, just sitting there on my driveway?

It doesn't need to be on, it just needs to be on channel #1.

When you renewed did they tell you the procedure for putting the car outdoors and verifying it is receiving the preview channel, then waiting xx minutes for the refresh to occur with the key and radio on?
