i bought final fantasy XIII yesterday to give it a try and bought avp about 4 weeks ago i beat the marine, alien and predator campaign and they were all awesome took about 14 hrs on hard, but the awesome thing about that game is multiplayer (if you have xbox 360 and avp my gamertag is basedthejoker19), and Final Fantasy XIII is a pretty awesome game amazing visuals and a great story that pulls you in and makes you want to find out what happens next.

i don't know about the final fantasy fanboys because this is the first final fantasy i ever played because i dont usually like rpg's like morrowind but this game is amazing. just wanted to tell you guys to get em

avp= 8.5/10

I think I'm going to rent FF. been a longtime fan vrom 1-X. XI was mmo and XII I couldn't stand the change to the battle system. Now they have ver little side quests and that's what defined the game to me. I'm willing to give it a shot, but not too happy about it.

So can you control all three characters, or just the main character and use preset gambits for the other two?

You just control the one main character. The other 2 supporting characters act of their own "free will" and help you out accordingly. Also, I won't go into describing the battle system too much, but its kind of like XII in a sense that you see the actual enemy on-screen, so you can avoid some fights if you want to. But when you engage a group of enemies, it goes into a turn-based battle system like all the other FFs before. Also, when using items like potions and antidotes, it doesn't cost you a turn. You can go down to them items menu, use a potion real quick, then the second it puts you back to the main battle menu, you can instantly attack. Hope that clarifies a teeny bit on the battle system. Theres alot more that I don't understand because I've only played for 30 minutes, but so far, its AWESOME!!

I have to rent 13 first. I played 12 for about 2-3 hours total before I got tired of it. Way too many changes over previous FF games. I didn't like 10 much but I got through it. Hopefully they will make 15 closer to the original 1-9 with levels, loads of side stuff, and maybe add in Jobs FFTactics style! I can dream can't I? 14 is a pseudo MMO that features single play with group play optional. I'll probably try it, but if its anything like 11 was, I won't be playing it for long.

I have 200 hours on FF8 and 130 hours on FFX. I was unemployed for a stint lol.

140 in 8
30 in 9
and about 90 in X

I don't even remember the time put into snes/famicom versions

How do you guys check total hours spent in 7 and 8? Every time I open the menu and look at the bottom, it just says 99:99. Is there an even more in-depth menu that I've never come across before?

PS3 version is supposedely better, but not by much. I think it's that fans of the series don't like the battlesystem since they changed it for 12. I don't think I'll be buying 13 either...I will rent it in a bit just to check it out.

I downloaded ff7 on psn and transfered it to my psp, i'm giving it another run through again, just got to coral prison yesterday

Oh and I did pick up 13, but with 12 hour days at work only got a few hours in on it, so far I like it but I'm not 100% thrilled with the battle system but it works
