MAST Cam - expected a little more...
LUMPINESS! My shop guy fired the car up for me yesterday so I could hear it with the cam, and honestly, it doesn't sound like much of a cam was put in
. I know the MAST Motorsports cam stage II package isn't a huge cam, but was still hoping it would have sounded a little more "cammed up" .Though it has not been tuned yet and the motor was cold - so I am not positive on what it will sound like when everything is perfect. Hopefully a little more lumpy or at least sound like I put a cam in it. Anyone have any thoughts on whether being cold and no tune would not make it sound as good as it could? Thanks!

What is the LSA on that cam? The tighter that angle, the more idle lope. I.E. 112ish will have a very noticeable lope. 115-117ish will have a more stock like idle.
Yes, being cold can affect it as the idle rpm would have been higher than at fully warmed up. |

Thats a very small cam shaft for a LS3. Only 1 degree of overlap. It will not lope much at all. Neither will it make the best power.
