Who has successfully beat a photo radar ticket?

Basically in AZ my understanding is the AZ Supreme Court ruled that you must be served in person by a process server to consider the ticket valid and if that does not happen within 180 days the ticket is automatically thrown out.

If you DO get served, a little more difficult but I understand that it is still possible to beat the ticket.

Anyone have any stories one way or the other? No particular reason I'm asking, just curious.

sounds like if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, did it make a sound.

I've seen people around here beat automated tickets based on that here a officer has to actually witness the act.

If you get a ticket and have a legitimate reason to go to court on a different date, then there is like a 75% chance that the officer won't show up. You can get a dismissal. But that's the only way that I know of beating a speeding ticket, I haven't even heard of a photo radar ticket before.

one way to beat a photo ticket is if the photo of ur car is someway obscured or unreadable. other than that they are pretty air tight.

This is an interesting topic, my friends and I were just discussing today.

If you get a photo ticket in NY for a stop light, there is no tie to your driving record, only a fine........no points.

How do those speed camera's work in CA, AZ and places like that??

Man, this world is getting too f'in politically correct............about as much fun as Nazi Germany!

photo speed violations and red light cameras do not go against your record here (no points) it is just $$$$$

they just installed red light cameras w/ photo radar in many intersection around the city here. which means you can get a ticket for speeding through a green light, a ticket for running a red light, AND if your speeding when you run the red you will get dinged for BOTH.

Its ridiculous!

I tell you man, I do not advocate running red lights or speeding through town, BUT, those damn camera's are too precise and unforgiving. I got one in NYCity and only about 1/3 of the rear of the car was over the white line on the opposite side. I mean come on, so now I JAM on the brakes at yellow.

It is getting to the point where if they are going to put speeding camera's everywhere, they might as well govern all the cars so they can only go up to 65, and be done with it.

I want to see a camera to catch the following:

- Slow drivers in the left lane
- people that pull out in front of you WITHOUT JUDGING THE SPEED you are going!
- People that do not know how to enter or exit the highway without effecting others
- A Holes that use the emergency lane in bumper to bumper traffic because they do not feel like waiting!
- People that are actually afraid of the car they are driving and it shows
- people that sit too close to the steering wheel, that will someday have an airbag for lungs

Sorry.....End Rant!

red light violation is like $150

speeding depends on how much over you are, but can range from $90-$500 (especially in construction and school zones)

Well I mean, being from NYC so this comes from personal experience, it does count as a traffic violation, especially if you're actually in the city, then there are enough crazy drivers that drive as if they didn't have a brain.

Yeh, cops need to become more fair as in who they should start out giving tickets to but in nyc they are starting to do so. For one, they now pull over a lot of cars which jam intersections and cause traffic.

And by the way other stuff that cops need to start giving tickets to are if someone drives on one lane, but then doesn't know how to switch over to the lane that they should be on and cause traffic because they drive all the way until the lane ends and then switch over. A good example is when driving off of the gw bridge and going straight to the harlem river drive and major deegan split. Most people drive on the lane that leads to the harlem river drive and at the very end causing traffic so that they find a spot to squeeze into the lane that leads to the major deegan. NYC people know what I'm talking about. Another example is when truck drivers don't drive on their lanes and drive without a care in the world, which leads to traffic.
