Keystone Light Camaro Preview
HOTROD Magazine is building a Camaro for Keystone Light as part of a promotional effort... the build was handled by Steve Strope of Pure Vision in SoCal.
This is a couple of casual pics this afternoon before the Keystone graphics go on... then it's a drive out to Las Vegas Sunday for the unveiling on Monday! A plug for Allen Gwynn Chevy in Glendale - notice no exhaust poking through the rear valance... A couple of teaser pics of the wheels... 305's in the rear, 275's in front... I see something shiney under the hood... Some subtle touches for the engine cover, incl. a fabricated filler panel... Grand Sport style stripes anybody? The Hotchkis suspension tucks things in nicely... A little mesh behind the grill is another subtle touch... Steve said the front grill looked too heavy, so he trimmed 50% from behind to lighten to look... The side pipes and gill inserts are a little over the top - but this will be a 'promo' car so it should stand out a little... Time to get ready for a few shots before the light fades - Steve Strope (builder, Pure Vision), Chico, Jerry Pitt (Publisher, Hotrod Magazine)... Getting things lined up... Soaking in the sun... Vegas or bust, 5 days and counting... Hey, if this is the Keystone Light promo car - did anybody think to look in the trunk? Steve taking a break, watching the traffic go by... Gratuitous shot with 'our' car in frame... And why not a close up, Honey your car is in the blog again... Last edited by abacojeff; 03-22-2010 at 02:40 PM. |

Looks good. I do agree the side pipe and gills are over the top though.

I usually like side exhaust, but I'm not sure about this set-up. I would have to see it in person.

I agree that the look won't be for everybody... but remember it's going to end up as a rolling billboard.
After the graphics go on - if it makes you think "beer"... then mission accomplished. Brought to you from the company that also brought you - Six Pack Fanny Packs: And the ever popular Beer Case Hat: And the "typical" Keystone drinker: |

They should make the supercharger look like a beer can.

The side exhaust could work, but I think by painting (or coating) it white, it draws your eye to it too much...
Otherwise, the rest of the car is nice.
