Question for Scott or anybody else who may know...

This has been bugging me for some time and I have yet to get a definitive answer on the issue. Now we've all seen the pics from Indy and the silver Brembo's on the SS, my question is whether or not those calipers will be available in RED from the factory? Now they look great the way they are no doubt, but the contrast that red calipers provide can't be beat - especially with my planned color scheme (gloss black w/ matte black rally stripes and satin black wheels). So I'm curious to know if GM has given a definite thumbs-down to red calipers; I'm sure there are many of us who would love to have them stock and spare a trip to the powder coater.

I asked this exact question to the Camaro Team and the answer was that the silver calipers on the silver SS that was at Indy was very close to production intent... they're silver, have CHEVROLET and brembo written on them, and are very good looking on the car... and making them red shouldn't be too hard

I highly doubt they will be offering color options for the Brembos out of the factory, but dealers may be willing to paint them for you in whatever color you want.

Hmmm... I think If I have to I'll go with the powder coat - you generally get a stronger, better looking finish. What I may do is create a CAMARO stencil and rattle can it with caliper paint after the powder coating though.

Hmmmm.........I heard this question asked and the response was that they WON'T be silver like on the SS we saw. The calipers in design will look like those, but the color will be a darker grey color. If you remember the slide that Al asked them to put up, they were definitely darker than what was on the SS.

that pic he showed was of a black caliper... or maybe it was a dark gray... but he never really said it was going to be a different color than what was on the silver SS... the slide was of a test caliper, and it was just meant to show the proportions... which was what my question was during the Q&A session... later on, I was able to ask them again about the color and that's when they were talking about the color on the silver car being close to production intent.

I remember Al saying something of a gunmetal grey....AND saying close to the SS. Either way, a silverish gray I think it will be.
