how often do you fill up and with what gas?
So i had my Camaro about close to 3 weeks now and have been driving it all over the place and have only filled up 3 times since ive had it. im getting close to 1000 miles and i just wanted to know how often does everyone else fill up thier tank? and any good suggestions on gas stations that would be cheap and good to fill up with. I've heard just shell and chevron but in CA arco/ampm seems to be the cheapest. Sorry just trying to penny pinch a pit a bit .

I fill up every 7-8 days driving over 300mi a week. I drive a mix of city / highway and I have a problem with speed, love to run it hard. I'm driving an LS also ENJOY IT MAN!!!!!!

My SS is NOT a daily driver so I don't track fuel consumption. When I do fill her up, it's Shell 93, Chevron/Texaco 93 or Sunoco 93 (hard to find). To be honest, I don't usually glance at the price until after I've started pumping. Basically I'd pay whatever the going rate is for 93 in my area. It's just so seldom I fill up (2200 miles driven in 8 months) that it's not a big concern.
There are a lot of people with the Camaro as a daily driver - they will undoubtedly be more helpful than me

I fill up when it's at half a tank, about twice a week. Stick to Shell 93 exclusively.

Rolling along...

Given the timing for when I'm near the gas station I prefer, I usually fill up right about every 300 miles. Takes roughly 14 gallons with my average mpg being about 21.3mpg overall. I could push it another day of commuting but I don't like getting down too far under 1/4 tank in case I make an unplanned side trip.
For fill-ups, I've been using Chevron 87octane since day one. Never had a problem with it in any of my other vehicles. Can't say the same for Shell/Exxon/etc... Whatever you use, at least try to use gas from a Top Tier retailer: http://www.toptiergas.com/retailers.html

My car is a daily driver with a good bit of stop and go, so I've been filling it up about once per week. I get about 16/17 mpg if it's all city, and about 19/20 if some highway is mixed in.

Thanks for all the suggestions on gas, looks like arco is not considered a top tier so no go for arco! But if anyone does fill up with cheap lil mom and pops, arco, or even costco i would like to hear your feedback thanks!

I think I broke the record - I filled up 6 months ago and still have 1/2 a tank I would suggest using Sunoco 93 - the higher the octane the better performance you will see.

I've been filling up at Chevron & Shell no place that looks like a dive. I also have tracked all three grades and don't see any difference in my opinion. The V6 calls for 87 but I've been running mid grade and 93, it runs around $2.75-$2.85 here in the middle of no wear. the manual recommends TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline. www.toptiergas.com lists the company's that meet the standards

I wouldn't fill up at a mom and pop place. If they don't go throught alot of gays in can get old. I stick to top tier in any performance car I have. My beater gets arco

Commits weekly crime
|
I use Shell 92 (they don't put out 93 here in Washington State), as I haven't found a place that sells 93 out here.
I fill up once a week if I am not doing a trip anywhere over weekends, as those may use 1-2 tanks. Then again, I've been saving a LOT of gas money recently since my car got hit and is in the shop being repaired.
