Tap Shift When to Use

I've got an automatic with tap shift and I was wondering when using the tap shift when am I supposed to shift up.

Well, that's kinda like asking "when do I shift up with my manual transmission". You just know when to shift, it comes without thinking after a while. It's entirely up to you, you have a rev limiter.

its for fun, its not that great for drag racing because it does not shift immediatly you can accidently hit the rev limiter and make it bog and lose time. when in tap shift mode you can shift when you want, i upshift at about 5000 rpm so by the time it shifts you will be just under the rev limiter rpm. for drag racing put it in M that is sport mode but dont touch the tap shift it will shift faster and it shifts just before the rev limiter kicks in. tap shift is good for road racing so you can be in the right rpm's in the powerband for fast exits out of the turns. with a tune torque managment tuned out downshifting will slow the car assisting the brakes to slow you quicker into tight turns.
