New catalytic converters can produce an egg smell while breaking in. And if your car is a stick you may be smelling clutch.

Mine smelled of hot/burned oil when it was newer, but now with 2k miles I dont notice it anymore.

I expect the most likely culprit if you are smelling oil well after break-in is the oil that ends up going through the intake system. Perhaps an oil catch can would help that.

Does it smell like ass?

Seriously...Mine had a strong oil smell especially in stop and go traffic until about 800 miles or so and it went away.

How many miles on it? Most will have a smell for the first 100-200 miles.....just the factory oils burning off the exhaust and engine.

I had a burning smell as well in the beginning. I traced it down to a very large part number label on the left downpipe just downstream of the cat. Once it finished burning off all was good.

I have an oil catch can and so far, I've had the throttle body off 2 times and still wiped up a bunch of oil from the engine side ;(

I only smell burning clutch, too much lately - no burnouts...

I have also expriance this smell. After a three year hiatis from driving stick I accidently rev'd up the maro a wee bit too much trying to get it up the incline drive way and into the garage without the nose ending up in the house. I know that smell though.....it was all clutch. wooops!

Same with me PB3. Mine is backing mine into my garage. I know I have the backup sensors, but, in the beginning, I could smell my clutch too. Now, I have gotten use to driving it, I don't ever smell my clutch. However, I did smoke the tires, and that was burnt rubber I smelled...ONLY ONCE...lol
