Camaro 2010 SS, V8 dyno at 304 HP
I just dyno'd my Camaro SS AT this morning and it's only putting out 304HP.
WTF? I thought it's supposed to put out around 350HP. Anyone have an idea what might cause this dramatic loss in power? I've taken out the muffler and the sound resonator for an X pipe and new mufflers. I can't image the loss in back pressure would cause a loss of 50 HP, can it? |

ouch, yes, well you should at least be putting down 325-345, and definitely seen some L99's in the 350's. Was it warm and humid? that can make some difference. Was it only one run? I'd try more runs or try a different dyno shop. If it continues to put out low #'s, you might want to take it in to the dealer see why there may be a loss in power.

Not that it would make a big difference, but I'd go with 93 octane if you have it at a gas station near you. I know alot of stations, like BP do. and try a fuse pull.

Post the dyno sheet. What kind of dyno was it? what was the weather? what's you're elevation? If it's a load based dyno (mustang dyno) your numbers might be inline. you can make a load based dyno spit out just about any numbers you want/dont want. if it's a dynojet, then you will want to do what some of these guys say (fuse pull etc.) |

Fill it up at least twice with 93 octane to remove/dilute most of the 91 octane. Then do the fuse pull reset procedure and re-dyno.
How many miles on the car? The break-in should be stabilized after around 2000 miles, so I'd wait at least that long to retest. You should be looking for something over 315 hp. The 400 crank hp minus 20% drivetrain loss (with AT) is 320 RWHP.
