Red Dawn remake: Novemberish this year :D

Just read an article saying there is a Red Dawn remake being released this fall. For those unfamiliar with the original; 80's movie in which the Soviet Union invades the US and a small band of high school age kids wage a guerrilla war against the forces in their area. It's really a pretty cool movie.... think I may need to go and watch it again tonight

Other 80's movies being remade and released this year: Tron, Clash of the Titans, Predator, Karate Kid, possibly a Ghostbusters remake.

Meanwhile, We are living our own real-life invasion...

Good gawd...is Hollywood really running out of fresh ideas. They're remaking everything these days. The new Red Dawn will never be able to top the original. Patrick Swayze was da man!

I'll still be interested to see a nice modern take on it. The original was definitely great though, will be hard to top.

Sooo yeah, necroing this thread to update anyone that may have been interested in it. Due to MGMs bankruptcy the release of the movie was delayed to supposedly sometime this year. Just found out one other little tidbit: China is no longer invading the US in the movie... North Korea is. The reasoning? So they can sell the movie in China... How $(#+@#$ lame is that?! They had to go back and edit out all the China references!! Screw China and they're stupid oversensitive government sensors, why the @#%^)* is this affecting US movies!!!!?!! /rant, sorry, had to get that out... stupid china...
