Most Gain on What Exhaust.
Trying to pick out an exhaust have my Vararam ordered. What exhaust(s) have shown the best gain?

Wide open X-pipe systems will all show around the same gains. It is a matter of Price and Sound.

After some good time researching I can tell you that you should by an exhaust for sound not for power. Most of the exhaust will give 10-12 rwhp. But maybe with the vararam it will be different you should ask those guys.

The stock exhaust. It gains you $600-$1200. Doesn't do much for the sound but it gives you more to other other WORTHWILE upgrades, like the suspension.

Unless you do LT headers and highflow cats, you'll not gain much from a aftermarket exhaust, except sound. The stock exhaust is that good, but doesn't make a lot of sound. If you're looking for PERFORMANCE, it's a waste of $$. If you're looking for a more aggressive sound and to get rid of the suitcase straight through mufflers, it's worthwhile. The factory H pipe and resonators can be replaced by a aftermarket X-pipe and gain most of what a catback exhaust will net you, in terms of HP gains. You could then use the $$ you saved on better sways, lower springs, and a chasiss brace.

Just replacing the axle back will not net you much of a gain in HP; more for sound quality only.
Full exhaust Headers, High Flow Cats, X Pipe, and Mufflers now that's where you are going to see some serious HP gains on your Camaro... Check out this thread ARH
