TPMS Trouble after installing 3 Piece Custom Wheels.

I had to strap the OEM TPMS Sensor to the barrel of the wheels using stainless strapping bands. I strapped them very close to the actual valve stem in the rim. I 3M Taped them down then with a dremel i made a recess so the strap can lock the sensor in place. I didnt butcher the sensor I basically ground down the plastic loop where the screw goes into the rubber stem.

Once the wheels were on the TPMS seemed to work without any reset or learn process. All 4 wheels had different PSI.

After some hard driving it went into malfunction.

I cant even reset the system I cant get the drivers side front tire to even sound the horn.

Do I need to go to the dealer or is there anything else I should try like disconnecting the battery then trying?

I had a damaged wheel so I bought a new one. At first I couldnt make the first horn, then realized that I had to take a lot of air of the wheel to make it sound.

Hope it helps

Go to a tire shop with a TPMS activation tool. It broadcasts a signal through the sidewall (sometimes tread) to activate the sensor. Also, it is important to note that most sensors use the valvestem as an antenna. Did you leave the valvestems in place, inside?

TPMS Bracket Adapter

Strapping is an old method, we manufactured adapter brackets that would have integrated with your valve stem....

I didnt want the barrel drilled for the adaptor nor did I plan to keep the TPMS active while racing.

Il figure out a solution. With the Step Lip on all of these new rims out there the valve stem is at the wrong angle and the sensor can get damaged with mounting a tire.
