Just had my Vararam Intake Installed
Yesterday I had my Vararam installed at my performance shop (Vengeance Racing in Cumming, GA) and fellow enthusiasts, believe me, it is well worth the wait! Vengeance did my ARH and Magna flow cat backs and I Dyno'd 353 RWHP (SAE) without the Vararam. Of course I have the automatic SS2.....I didn't get it Dyno'd again since I have had it done twice in 4 months and I will throw it on the Dyno at the fest on the 17th. I literally get off of the pedal between 60-70 MPH and I swear, you can still feel her lunging forward! I have test drove some of boy's SS's that have other intakes in them and you can definitely tell a difference. Visit the Vengeance team on Saturday at the track because the shop Manager (Ron) told me that he is bringing 10 intakes with him and installing them for free...First come first serve. I'll have my ride at their tent so you will be able to check it out. See you all in a little while!! Silver Ice SS with Firefighter tag. |

DO you have the tune or no tune version and do you have a tune on your car? If you have the no tune, what size filter did you get?

I love mine so far.. no tune on a tune only unit.. a little bit of bucking, but you definitely feel the difference..

It sounds great....It isn't grossly louder than the stock box at all which I kind of like. The biggest difference that I have noticed is that I don't feel the transmission as much as I did before. Going through the gears is much more easier....The tune has helped with that.

Looks good.
When you "throw it on the dyno on the 17th" is it the same dyno you've been using? The numbers won't mean anything if its a different dyno. By won't mean anything I mean you won't be able to use the numbers to see how much HP the Vararam is making. If it is the same dyno, I'll be very interested to see how much RWHP you pickup from the intake over you're previous setup. As you probably know, I just dynoed my L99 with a Vararam intake. I picked up 5 rwhp over my LMR intake. Nothing crazy, but the Vararam shows itself out on the open road not on the dyno. |

BUT....5 HP over your LMR which was probably making 15-20 over stock. Thats not too bad!

When I get mine tuned.. "will be next week now".. It will be on the same dyno that I baselined at.. simliar conditions if the weather holds.. we'll see some real results.. The only variable is that mine wasnt completely stock for the baseline. Had X-pipe and Muffler Delete done prior.. Baselined at 389.. cant wait to see the new numbers

Thinking Vararam at only 380 miles on my car
I was really pleased to find that Vararam is making a unit for the new Camaro. I have had my 1SS RS 6A for less than a week and am excited to get some performance mods going (will need it when the Mustang 5.0s become more popular!). Incidentally, I traded my 2008 Mustang Bullitt for this Camaro and after taking the keys from the dealer, I knew instantly it was the right decision....talk about power!
Big mistake, I traded my 2002 C5 Z51 Vette for the Mustang, but knew before hand how slow the Mustang would be and it was. Anyway...I had the Vararam on my Vette while we were in Europe and trust me, it was absolutley awesome...there's no doubt in my mind I got at least 30 HP out of it and if YOU don't believe it just ask tons of BMWs, Porches and Ferraris. I know it made a huge differenct in 1/8 mile ETs .352 to be exact with the Vararam the only change. Buy one, you won't be disappointed, I will as soon as I find a vendor to order it from. Does anyone know the price and where to buy????? |
