frustrated

so i ordered my ls3 in late january i picked it up about 2 weeks ago. the dealer put 87 octane it in which i wasnt too happy about, anyway i ran it down to a quarter of a tank then filled it with 93 did the fuse pull for an hour.. no change. ran it down to almost a quarter of a tank again and filled it back up with premium i took the fuses out again and this time am going to wait all night until i put them back in. i tried getting on it on the way back home gave me a nice jolt but could not get the tires to spin. its really starting to piss me off. sorry guys i just wanted to vent but if it this keeps up i wish i kept my automatic LS1 it would eat it alive the way the new one is running. and also.. this "wake up" period that ive been hearing about after about 1500 miles does this apply to the ls3's or the l99's or both?

I believe it's:
L99 = fuse pull
LS3 = disconnect battery

perhaps someone else could confirm this though

Sure you've tried it, but also make sure your traction control is off, or you really won't get much wheelspin.

Other than that, throw in some octane booster, pull your fuses and unhook your battery, then press the brake pedal a few times just to make sure all the electricity is drained out of everything

I get a good amount of wheel spin with everything on at 800 miles

OP
the LS3 only benefits from the battery disconnection. Try that and see what happens.

Do not put octane booster in the gas. Waste of money. The PCM has an 87 octane tune and a 91 octane tune. Octane booster will not increase HP over 91-93 octane pump gas.

Now that the 87 is out, disconnect the battery for up to 2 hours. Reconnect, drive the car for 100 miles.

I now have 1,200 miles, CAI and Amsoil 5w-30 and it runs like a spotted ape. I spun the tires last night with the traction control on.

Patience is your best friend.

Ok. Here is my dumb question for the day. What is the easiest way to disconnect the battery on an LS3?

LOL, there's a Positive cap when you open the hood. Its on the right, the red cap with + sign on it. open that up, use metric socket to unscrew the weird looking bolt. its holds those wires for the battery. If i remember it right from when i did airaid install. 2SS should be the same as LS holpefully.

Check this out:

I found out my dealer puts 87 in too because sometimes 91 isn't available. I told them I would drive some 91 to their town if they didn't have any!

Do NOT disconnect your battery this way. Anything you touch that cable to will arc and weld to the cable. Go to your trunk, open up the battery compartment, and disconnect the NEGATIVE cable.

When I got my LS3 it was a dog for the first 1000 miles or so. Give it time- you will be impressed when it loosens up. I did the hard break in by the way.

When I say put in octane booster I mean just to make sure that the tank is @ 91 octane for sure. Just in case there is still some 87 in there knocking your average down

Make sure you film this cause you will most likely be in contention for the Darwin Award if you touch anything with the wire you just disconnected.
